Enrique Adolfo Jiménez Airport
Enrique Adolfo Jiménez Airport ((スペイン語:Aeropuerto Enrique Adolfo Jiménez)) is a International airport located in Colón, Panama, offering scheduled airline flights to Panama City, and to other destinations. This airport consist of areas for car rentals, duty-free, restaurants, coffee shops along with others. The airport is located near the Sheraton Hotel and Radisson Hotel and Casino.〔(Enrique Adolfo Jimenez Airport, Colón, Panama )〕
Prior to its use as a civil airport, the facility was a United States Army (later USAF) military airfield, established in 1918. It was turned over to the Panama Canal Zone government in 1949, and was converted into a civil airport. United States control over the airport ended in 1979 with the turnover of the Panama Canal Zone to the government of Panama.
==History==
For over thirty years, the field was operational with the United States Air Force and other entities before it, eventually becoming France Air Force Base. Following its closure the field came under civilian control, becoming Colon Airport.
